Teaching RE for NQT and RQTs: Subject knowledge and teaching and learning support

This is a 2 session programme, hosted by Learn AT Teaching School Alliance.

Led by Fiona Moss from RE Today, delegates will be introduced and supported to complete an additional optional certificated online course.

Price: DBE partner schools – £150 or £250 for both sessions. 

Session 1 (virtual): Wednesday 11th November

4.15pm – 6.00pm with a 15 min break

What is the intent of RE in the curriculum? In your school?

What are effective teaching and learning strategies to implement RE in my primary classroom?

This session will explore different religion and worldviews taught in primary RE as well as looking at the effect our own biases can have on our teaching. A series of teaching and learning strategies that can be used in the classroom will be shared.

Session 2 (face to face or virtual): Monday 17th May

4.15pm – 6.00pm with a 15 min break

Subject knowledge in RE. What do you need to know about different religions and worldviews to teach in the primary classroom? With a focus on Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism and non- religious worldviews this session will improve subject knowledge and share knowledge rich teaching and learning strategies.
