Each term Fiona Moss will host a virtual meeting for RE Coordinators and anyone will a responsibility for teaching RE in a primary school setting.  These sessions are suitable for CofE schools and community schools.  

Unpacking the Ofsted Research Review and Deep Dives in RE, 27th October 2021, 1pm – 4pm  

In May OFSTED published their research review, Ofsted are already inspecting schools and SIAMS re-starts in October. This session will look at what this research report has to say and what we can learn from this research to help us prepare for inspection and more importantly improve RE in our schools.

10th March 2022, 1pm – 4pm, Teaching About Big Questions in RE

This session will look at how to encourage questions in the RE classroom and also share ideas of how to teach about the big questions that religion and world views address. From the environment and creation to dealing with death and support pupils to engage in enquiry and as enquirers we will explore questions, questioning and the subject knowledge needed to undertake these enquiries. Strategies and examples will be shared to use directly in the classroom.

8th June 2022, 1pm – 4pm, Teaching diversity in Judaism

Teaching about any religious or non-religious worldview means ensuring pupils gain good subject knowledge about practices, beliefs and ways of life. This session will improve teacher subject knowledge and will use examples designed to show the diversity within the Jewish community. Strategies and examples will be shared to use directly in the classroom.
